Game Report by Shanks!

February started with a bang for Nutrafarms Inc./Kutting Edge Promotions who took a 7-4 victory against Jen Hill Construction/Lake Country Animal Hospital. Brittany Lowry netted 5 of the winning goals while Stephanie Duckett (1,0) and Tania Killian(1,2) each took singles. Assists went to Christina Steele, Jenn Lowry, Ramona Mark and Celine Demeules. The four Jen Hill Construction/Lake Country Animal Hospital goals were scored by Hannah Epstein (2,2) and Wendy Ceccanese (2,2), assisted by Erin MacCormack and Sandy Drury.

 

Game 2 saw Home Hardware take home the 3-1 win against Sunshine Superwash/Shanks ENJO. Home Hardware goals went to Shannon Bentley (1,1), Morgan Macintosh (1,1) and Amy Angus (1,1), assisted by Sarah Taher (0,2) and Stacy Strong. The lone Sunshine/ENJO goal went to pick up player Amy McCuaig, assisted by Nicole Shanks and Holly Lillico.

 

The final tier 2 game resulted in Bremner Orthopaedics defeating Pennzoil 10 Minute Oil Change/I.G. Wealth Management 6-1. Winning goals went to Anita Raikes (1,1), Jen Page, and pick up players Lisa Scott (2,0) and Amy Angus (2,1) with assists going to Heather Bremner (0,2) and Nicole Shanks. The unassisted single for Pennzoil/IG was netted by Erin McCuaig.

 

Tier 1 saws the Geneva Event Centre take a 5-3 win against Kelsey's Roadhouse. Winning goals went to Nicole Chute (2,1), Deanne Hibbert (2,0) and Robin Lee (1,1), assisted by Kara Hawkins, Heather Simpson,  Janice Godin and Shannon Green. Kelsey's singles were netted by Rachel Schaus, Haylee Lawlor and Charlotte Thompson, assisted by Kiki Miller,  Rhonda Hales, Sydney Mazzonello and Megan Lewis.

 

The only tie of the night went to Ledgers Orillia and Lake St. George Golf Club who took home one apiece. Both unassisted goals were netted by Ledgers' Julie Thurston and Lake St. George's Amanda Manning.

 

The final game of the night saw Giant Tiger defeat Erin K. Watson 4-0. Goal scorers were Morgan Hubley (2,0) and Milayla Rae (2,2), assisted by Amy Trumble (0,1). The lone shutout of the night went to Kerri Robins sponsored by Harvey Watt Remax to close out another great night of ladies' hometown hockey.
